The Church Enhancement Project
St. James Church was consecrated in 1304 and has served the Village of Westerleigh as a focal point for rural life since then. It is a grade-1 listed heritage building and national monument 201265. Being the age that it is, St. James does not have all the modern conveniences compatible with 21st century living.
It is proposed to incorporate two toilets, a servery, secure storage, a warm meeting room and to improve the heating and lighting. It is also planned to provide better disabled access by re-laying the flagged floor of the porch as a gentle slope.
